Zoom

Is web based meeting software, that can be run on your PC, Laptop, Tablet or Smartphone… it will work on Windows 10, Android, IOS (v6.0 +) and Mac.

Joining a Meeting

To download zoom, you can go to the Android Play Store, App Store, or go the Zoom website https://zoom.us/ where you can sign up for free.

NOTE: if you have let us know an email address, then it is easiest to sign up to zoom with that email address.

You can also click on the meeting link we send you, this should prompt you to download the Zoom software.

If you have Zoom installed, just use it to open the link when prompted.

If possible, make sure your device is connected via an Ethernet cable or is connected to a wifi source… using your phones data could get costly

Meeting Etiquette

When not talking, please keep your microphone ‘muted’ so as not to disturb the meeting and drown out the person who is currently sharing (there is a button at the bottom of the screen with a microphone on it… pressing this toggles the microphone off and on).

If you can, view the meeting from a quiet area where there are less likely to be disruptions, if you need to move away from the meeting it is suggested you turn your video camera off before leaving (again, a button at the bottom of the screen).

If you are having problems with the quality of your connection, it may be better to turn your video off as this uses less bandwidth on your internet connection.

Anonymity

These meetings will NOT be recorded, nor are they available to be viewed by anyone other than those who have received an email link. Once the meeting has finished, Zoom does not record the email addresses of anyone who has attended the meeting.

7th Tradition

The money that we give at the end of the meeting pays for the use of the room, tea, coffee, milk and literature. Even though we are not using the room currently, we would still like to make a donation to the church so that when the current movement limitations are lifted, we can resume using the room.

Anything left over goes to AA GSO at York to help fund AA so that it can continue to help Alcoholics… both still suffering and in recovery.

How to donate money / 7th Tradition – Either by PayPal to this meeting or directly to GSO York
